Who or What is God?

I know this may be a "loaded" question - but I am sincerely interested in people's view or understanding of "who" or "what" God is? If you believe in "God" - can you describe your understanding of God - or Allah or Jehovah or All-That-Is or whatever name you use? I so want to know about all the different perceptions people have - and also discover where we might share in any common beliefs. I love to gain more awareness and to be inspired by people's insights. (And, if you have the time and wouldn't mind sharing, how did you come to this understanding? Were you raised with this belief or did you come to it on your own?) Thank you for taking the time to share this with me.  Sincerely, Pam

  1. Thankyou for your question and trying to meet people where they are at. Whenever two or more are gathered together or meet aka listen, there is a sense of the third/Holy Spirit/ Feminine/Mystery. Who or what God for me comes from intuition..the knowing of something without the rational reasoning of it. For me, I met God in nature, my caretakers, and watchiing the sun come up and go down each day.

  2. What a great image! I love how you experience God. Thank you - really - for sharing that with me. Love it! I love the "two or more gathered together" reminder. Beautiful. And powerful.

  3. I believe in God. Like it says "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End".(Revelation 22:13) and to me that is exactly who God is. He is everything we see and in some way everything we touch is God, because without his will we are nothing.

  5. For me God is both beyond my understanding yet I can grasp the idea of him. (note: I use the male prefix for convenience only) Just like you can't understand infinity yet you can understand the idea of it. What I understand of God is that he is a force or power or entity beyond this universe and any other universe, parallel or otherwise. Saying that he is a power does not mean he isn't sentient. God created sentience. He created the idea of everything. Not even logic or basic universal laws existed before he created them. Therefore, God knows everything. He loves everything. His love isn't something that we can understand fully, again. But we got our ability to love in a mirror of what he is all about. He loves every single atom in every single universe. His love is what keeps it all together, because without it, it wouldn't exist. I know some of this sounds abstract or contrived, but it's the best I can do to explain what I feel and think. Knowing of God exists can't happen the way some people want it to. How can you prove something exists when, in a way, it doesn't? God doesn't exist as matter, or as energy. God is underneath it all. He is above, inside, and deeper in every single atom than we can measure. Anything we measure or can prove to exist we can only measure in terms of our universe. We can't measure anything that is beyond it, because we aren't beyond it.
I also think that even though God is limitless in Power, he doesn't forget about every single person. Even though he is beyond our understanding, we are not above his. He understands every single thing we do, however mundane it may be. And he loves it, as he loves us. That's what I think.
