It had been sort of cool to be a struggling artist in my twenties; now that I was thirty, however, it was time to do something to change all that. I did a simple little ritual called the middle pillar meditation from a book called The Art of True Healing by Israel Regardie. That's how it all began. In a way, it's completely truthful to say that I created my success — including a multi-million dollar company — by magic, using a series of simple rituals, prayers, and visualizations that I can easily pass on to anyone. Over the years, led by a few old books, a few teachers, and my own intuition, I went through a course in magic. Now it's time to make the course available for anyone and everyone who is interested in changing their lives and their world for the better — in an easy and relaxed manner, a healthy and positive way, in its own perfect time, for the highest good of all. I try to give the essence away of what I know every time I write or talk. So here's one way to express the essence of A Course in Magic: Whatever you focus on creates your reality. If you focus on problems and struggle, you will struggle with problems. If you focus on your dreams, and continually remember those dreams, you can discover how to create the life of your dreams, one small, easy, obvious step at a time. James Allen said it so beautifully in his magical book As You Think, written over a century ago: You will become as great as your dominant aspiration.
