A Handful of Salt

There's an ancient story about a student who was moaning and complaining to his teacher about how much pain & distress he was in. His teacher asked him to pick up a handful of salt and put it into a glass of water. Then he told the student to drink it – which the student did.

The teacher asked him "How does it taste?"

"Bitter," replied the student.

"Now take a handful of salt and put it into this deep, fresh water lake near us." The student did as he was instructed. The teacher stirred the lake water with a stick.

"Now," the teacher said, "Drink some water from the lake." The student knelt down and drank from the lake.

"How does it taste?" asked the teacher.

"Clean and fresh," replied the student.

"It is the same amount of salt – the same amount of pain," said the teacher. "The difference is the container in which you hold the salt or pain. If you see your life as small and insignificant, any amount of pain will feel overwhelming and bitter. If you see yourself and your life as expansive, awesome, and from a larger, grander perspective, pain will seem much less significant."

Who you really are is much greater than any problems or challenges that can come into your life.

I thought this was an interesting piece to share with you - from Carolyn Myss:

That we are now living in a time of immense chaos is obvious. But it is precisely for times like these that you have prepared your inner consciousness and soul to transcend fear (as Teresa of Avila would say) in order to keep centered and clear headed. And it is exactly in times like these that you rely upon the wisdom and grace from the finest mystical truths that you have learned from seminars you attended or authors you have read. The wisdom of Teresa of Avila, for example, is very appropriate for times like these because she understood the nature of Divine chaos and directed her nuns in ways to respond to personal experiences of Divine chaos. A cycle of frantic social change is an expression of Divine chaos; that is, the stability factors that have held the social fabric in place are shifted seemingly in an instant and the result is chaos.

For Teresa of Avila, Divine chaos was God's way of creating an upheaval in order to break through patterns of denial that held a person emotionally or mentally captive. Or Divine chaos brought about necessary endings to ways of living that ceased to serve the well being of humanity. Whether the task you are attending to is personal or professional, it is essential that you put conscious thought into it, that you do it with as much awareness as you can, given the reality that none of us can be that aware each day. But realistically, the point being driven home by Teresa as well as other great mystics is that when you become too accustomed at what you are doing – too bored or too familiar – you retreat into unconsciousness. You no longer have to push yourself toward consciousness. You reach a place where you let habit and familiarity do all the work for you – and that is a danger zone, a serious danger zone and a prime set up for an encounter with chaos. Why would that be?

After all these years of teaching, some things still baffle and challenge me again and again, among them is, "What exactly is this business of consciousness about that we are in if not to become conscious?" When anything becomes habit, in particular your life, what becomes of the challenge of becoming conscious? How is that task supposed to be accomplished? Of what are you supposed to become conscious? (Please don't tell me your wounded history). Ideally, our task is to become conscious of how we direct the power of our spirit into acts of creation during the course of our life. More or less, that sums it up. An illuminated soul is one who is on to the game, who really understands what Buddha meant by seeing clearly through the world of physical illusion and not being controlled by that world. Jesus would say, "Be in the world but not of the world." Same truth, different words. What we are meant to become conscious of is how well we live in accordance to these high cosmic truths while in physical form.

When are you melting too much into the world of illusion, for example? Do you know? Can you recognize when that sensation of melting is happening to you? Are you able to say to yourself, "Careful, I am now losing my power in this conversation because I am becoming frightened?" And then, equally if not more important, are you able to detach from that conversation and potential fear once you spot it? If not, you become captured by the illusion, by a fear that you should have been conscious enough to protect yourself from as this is what your inner work is all about: learning to discern what is truth from illusion – at all times, in all places. That test never stops, it never goes away. The moment you think you have conquered a part of yourself is the moment you are tested, like the addict who announces he has won his war with alcohol, only to discover that his hubris is his downfall. Consciousness is hard work and when we slip, which we all do, the net that catches us when we fall is chaos itself.

The common thread in every experience of Divine chaos is one of truth; specifically, a person has fallen out of alignment with his or her core truths. Divine chaos is a course corrector, a way of bringing down the systems that distraction built in order that they can be replaced with systems or structures designed with conscious thought. That's the ideal, of course, and ideals are rarely achieved – thus, we are visited by Divine chaos again and again. It is not easy, this business of becoming a conscious human being, but what's your other option?

My idea is - to change the outer circumstances in our lives, we need to first change our inner thoughts & beliefs. Our outer world is a reflection of our inner pictures. Einstein says "Imagination is more important than knowledge." We use our imagination to create our lives. What we think we "know" can limit our true potential, what we "know" is what we believe is possible and is our limited version of reality. I support all of us using our imagination to "see" great things for our lives - and then living those visions! Happy 2012!

Generally - not always, but most of the time:

Yellows like dogs.
Blues prefer cats.
Greens (and some Tans) don't like the mess or extra work & expense of having pets.
Violets can have either cats or dogs - but often prefer global, exotic animals.
Crystals & Lavenders often have pet allergies.

Greens Having Challenges

Some of you Greens are experiencing challenges right now with your work and finances – maybe you're unfulfilled, struggling, or out of work completely. Here are helpful tips to help you make it through and maybe even thrive.

A lot of you Greens have been laid off or your work and income have taken a dip – real estate agents, stockbrokers, financial planners, loan officers, bankers, non-profit fundraisers, business owners, and more. During the Depression – more Greens took their lives because they defined themselves by their jobs and their money. Although Greens tend to take failure harder than most others, keep in mind that many Greens in the past have been seriously challenged or failed at least once in their lives – even declaring bankruptcy – before they succeeded. They still knew they would never win if they didn't aim high and go for it. Some well-known Greens include Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Barbara Walters, David Letterman, and Lucille Ball.

During these challenging times, this may be the perfect time for you Greens to consider furthering your education – going for your Masters, PhD, MBA, etc so you feel more powerful and confident with your level of expertise. Or consider that this could be your opportunity to become an entrepreneur. You're smart, quick thinking, good at developing plans, organizing offices, figuring out systems and patterns, and more. If you put the same amount of hard work, long hours and energy into your own business as you have been putting into someone else's business – you could have a good shot at achieving success. Greens do have a fear of failure, of being humiliated, and of not having money – so you'll have to overcome those fears. Calculate the obstacles and figure out how to get through or around them.

These are beneficial steps for Greens to take:

Get clear what you really want to be and have in your life.
Make a list of your desires and goals. (Greens often accomplish the things they write on a list.)
Research what it would take to accomplish those goals - including learning what it took others to achieve similar goals. Weigh the risks – but also look at your life if you don't do this.
Make a plan, including the financial requirements. Ask yourself if you want to do this alone or find business partner(s), or if you need to take classes or further your education to accomplish your goals?
Take action! Greens need to take action if they are to feel empowered or accomplish anything.
Take responsibility for your own life and situation. Blaming others is common for out-of-power Greens – but it doesn't accomplish anything, it keeps you stuck and dis-empowered.
If challenges occur, review these steps, adjust your plan if necessary, and then persist. Successful Greens are those who didn't give up. Greens are typically the most tenacious and persistent of the aura colors. (Stubbornness is not the same thing as being intelligently persistent and determined to accomplish your goals.)
Learn, grow, and move forward. Learn, grow, and move forward. Own your power, think of options, overcome obstacles, develop, revise plans as needed, learn and grow.
Also – appreciate what you've learned and already accomplished. You Greens are typically perfectionists – which can hold you back because of a fear of doing it wrong, or make your successes less than fulfilling since nothing is ever good enough.

Greens can accomplish anything they set their minds to – so set your mind and commit to achieving your goals. You'll probably be disappointed in yourself if you play it too small and too safe. You're smart - go for it.

About 90% of my clients these days are Violets! That’s huge!They’re feeling squeezed – most didn’t listen to that small inner voice. Nowthey’re coming in with depression, serious health issues, divorces, deaths, andother dramas. If you feel stuck or unsure how you’re going to accomplish yourdreams, if you haven’t found a way to move forward, you’re most likely gettingthe rug pulled out from under you to make you move forward.

You Violets havealways had big dreams. You need to live "outside the box." It doesn’t matter if others don’t dream or envision thatway – you do and there are reasons for that.

1) You didn’t want to be bored this lifetime – youwanted to have a bigger life, a more extraordinary experience. So what you dothis lifetime needs to be extraordinary. The bigger challenges lead to the bigger payoffs. Bigger mountains to climb bring greater & more inspiring vistas at the top. And because you have so much compassionand depth to you (even if you’re currently frustrated with humanity – that’scommon for Violets) you need to do something that improves the quality of lifefor others. You need to help or inspire people in a big way – to improve thequality of life for others. That is a tall order. If you get to the end of your life, or leave the planetwithout fulfilling your reason for coming here – you’ll most likely haveregrets. (As much as you think you'll be relieved to be done with the struggle - you'll also wonder what this lifetime was about and if you could've done something else.)

2) You Violets typically would prefer not to “haveto” come back to this plane, this planet again. You’ve had so many lifetimes -it can get boring, hard, or overwhelming here for you. This plane usually feels denseand tough to you. So you need to tie up all lose ends, resolve any issues youhave with people, move through your frustration, not give up in hopelessness –because if you leave the planet that way, you’ll make yourself come back hereagain. (Belief systems aside - that is THE worse thing for a Violet to hear.)

Advice on how to move forward and live your potential:

1. First, listen to your inner voice

2. If you think you don’t know how to accomplishwhat that voice is telling you to do – imagine someone coming to you with thesame dream and confusion, and see what you would advise them to do. You Violetsare some of the world’s best advice-givers. You just need to listen to your ownadvice.

3. Be around people who are doing what you want todo, be around the energy of what you want to do with your life. It will make itmore real for you. You pick up the energy of the environment around you. Chosethe people & environment that will inspire you to believe in your vision - to see that it's possible to achieve!

4. Violets benefit from mentors. Find people or atleast read biographies about people (other Violets) who inspire you and then dowhat they did – or something similar. Did they have courage? Did they not giveup on their dreams? Did they go the extra mile? Did they take it step by step –and eventually find themselves living their dreams? What inspires you aboutthem? Be and act that same way.

5. Meditate – Violets need to have quiet time toconnect with their vision and higher guidance. If you can’t sit still – take awalk, listen to inspirational or calming music, do something to quiet thatcritical voice so you can get out of your own way.

Helping Tans feel more secure

Some of the aura color personalities that are having a rough time in
life right now are the Tans. Tans value security, stability & logic.
The world looks unstable, unpredictable and untrustworthy to many Tans
these days. To help Tans feel better - let's look at some logic. The
world has gone through tough times before - even tougher times than
these - and we always come through it. And we usually come through it
even better off than before. (Unless people panic and/or give up.)
Worrying only makes you suffer, it doesn't solve anything. Life has

For those of you who want information on Indigos, they are the most recent aura color to arrive on the planet. Indigos are ushering in a new energy, a new consciousness, a new age of peace and harmony. Whereas Violets feel driven to help save the planet, educate the masses, and improve life, Indigos are here to live as examples of a new higher awareness. Most Indigos began arriving in the 80s and 90s, although a few Indigos came as forerunners much earlier. The words used to describe Indigos include honest, aware, highly intuitive, psychic, independent, fearless, strong willed, and sensitive. Tans & Greens in Relationship

Tans with Greens: These two personalities are potentially compatible
in relationship because both are intellectual and share many of the
same interests. They enjoy discussing ideas rationally and logically —
although Tans typically process information more slowly than Greens,
which can cause Greens to become frustrated and impatient.

These two often experience conflict over money. Greens want to make a
lot of money quickly; they are gamblers and risk takers. Tans believe
they have to work a long time for money. They are more cautious and
want to build a stable foundation. Greens tend to dominate in this
relationship. When Tans feel overpowered, they often withdraw in self-
defense. This cuts off communication between them and further
irritates the Greens, who want to be heard and respected.

If these two can perceive their differences as assets rather than
problems, then they can work well together. Tans can take care of the

Blues & Tans in Relationship

Blues and Tans in Relationship: This is a common union. Because Blues
desire a monogamous, committed relationship, they are often drawn to
the Tans' stability and reliability. If both are looking for a
traditional marriage, in which the Blues love and nurture their Tan
providers, then this relationship can work. The two Tans that are the
most compatible with Blues are Sensitive Tans and Abstract Tans. They
tend to be a touch more emotional than the other two Tans.

With Tans, the Blues have the comfort and satisfaction of knowing they
have stable, reliable, and committed mates. Tans know they have loyal,
loving, and devoted partners. Commitment and security are the rewards
for this couple. Since both fill different roles in the relationship,
both must realize that each sees the world differently, processes
feelings differently, and has different priorities.

Unfortunately, what typically develops in this relationship is a
communication problem. Blues communicate from the heart — they want to
bond emotionally with their mates. Tans, on the other hand, process
intellectually; they prefer to analyze a situation and come up with a
rational solution while keeping their emotions and thoughts to

The Monkees & Parallel Universes

I had an unusual "parallel universe" experience a few days ago. I got
to hang out with The Monkees. Watching their 60s TV show play in the
background during the concert - I saw the young teens I had a crush
on. Performing in front of that were the 60+ year old guys. My younger
days collided with my current life - one picture superimposed over the
other. Then hanging with them backstage - I saw the youth still in
their eyes. It was such a strange "parallel universe" feeling. Has
anyone else ever had a similar experience? If so, please share!! I've
experienced parallel universes before - but not like that. I had no
sense of time, a confusing sense of my age - and could see that these
two "realities" were both still occurring - at least in my
consciousness. It felt like no time had passed, and simultaneously
felt like my youth was another lifetime. What an experience.

Relationship with a Blue & a Crysta

Relationship with Blues & Crystals

This relationship has the potential to be harmonious. Blues are
sensitive enough to support and protect the Crystals' emotionally
fragile nature. Both have an appreciation for the esthetic and
spiritual things in life, so they can create a beautiful, gentle, and
loving environment together.

Blues typically love having an abundance of friends around them. They
also love to spend time emotionally connecting with their mates.
Crystals tend to shy away from people and social activities. Blues
need to be understanding and not take it personally when Crystals
withdraw. And Crystals need to learn to emerge from their hibernation
frequently to be with the Blues. If Crystals can learn to express
appreciation to the Blues, and Blues can learn when to gently give
love and when to be still, these two can create a wonderfully
compatible relationship.

Our sense of "Reality" is shifting!!

I get very excited when I find information that validates what I have
experienced and believe - that we and "reality" are more than what
we've been taught! We are evolving our consciousness! Way fun!

Even National Geographic is showing some amazing shows: "Naked

Have you seen this cool series on the Science Channel? It's hosted
by Morgan Freeman and it's awesome! It has segments on Consciousness,

on Wednesday nights. It really does show that our consciousness and
beliefs about reality are shifting! The discoveries are reaching the
mainstream very quickly now! It's exciting to me!

Reds & Blues (for 4th of July)

For July 4th, I thought I'd write about Reds and Blues in
relationship. Reds have a strong appetite for physical passion and are
reluctant to open up emotionally. Blues are more sentimental and need
an emotional connection; they want to be lovingly held. Blues want
partners who are loyal and committed. Although Reds are capable of
loyalty and commitment, they are also highly independent and want to
be out doing physical activities. Blues tend to perceive the Reds'
aloof behavior as emotional abandonment. Reds are usually too strong-
willed and stubborn for the sensitive Blues. And the Red's potential
for angry outbursts would move most Blues to tears.

Magenta & Yellow Relationship

Relationship with Magentas and Yellows

Magentas tend to be outrageous, creative, and even rebellious. Yellows
tend not to take life too seriously either, and they appreciate good
rebellious behavior, since they lean that way themselves. Yellows also
enjoy the wild creative or artistic abilities of the odd Magentas, who
can be interesting playmates for them. Usually Yellows are the only
ones who can keep a sense of humor around the strange Magentas. Even a
fun-loving Yellow, however, can be embarrassed and appalled if the
Magenta goes overboard and becomes offensive.

Your Life is Like an Acorn

Rather than see your dream life as "out there" somewhere else in time
and space – and something you have to strive to reach or achieve, see
yourself and your desired life like an acorn – that life is already
inside you, emerging and evolving, and it's inevitable that you will
become that. Like the acorn, it's inevitable that it will become an
oak tree – the entire tree is already inside it.

Orange & Crystal in Relationship

An Orange and a Crystal in relationship would be very challenging.
These two colors have nothing in common. Crystals are too sensitive
and fragile for the rugged, highly-adventurous, daring Oranges.
Oranges want to be outdoors taking on the challenges of the physical
world. The quiet Crystals prefer gentle solitude. Oranges are too
brash for these soft-spoken personalities and would overwhelm their
delicate systems. Oranges are also too independent for Crystals, who
would end up feeling lonely and abandoned. Oranges crave excitement
and would not feel stimulated by the Crystals' constant need for quiet
and spiritual meditation.

Love is the Only Solution!

This is what a lot of young people are posting on FB - and I share the sentiment, so I'm joining them.

Love is the Only Solution!
"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an 'enemy.' Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

I added the quotes around 'enemy' - because I believe the only 'enemy' we have is fear. I would rejoice if fear disappeared. But otherwise, we're all in this together. Certain people have chosen to reflect (act out) the inner love and fear we all have by playing the roles of the hero and the "villain" for us. Once we no longer have inner fears - the outer projections/images of fear will also disappear.

I wish for all of us - love, joy, abundance, peace, and radiant expressions of energy (wonderful health!) Love to you, Pam
